When Did We Stop Believing We Could Fly?

"A soccer player AND a boxer. I'm going to be both."
That's my youngest. No hesitation. No doubt.
My older son? "Mega AFL player. I'm going to play for Australia."
You know what I see in their eyes? Pure belief. Not hope. Not wishful thinking. Belief.
They don't see impossible. They see exactly what they want, and they know they'll get there.
When did we lose that?
We Were Made for More
Here's what I truly believe: You were not put on this earth to spend your days doing something that drains the life out of you. You were not made to wake up dreading Monday. You were not designed to trade your one precious life for work that means nothing to you.
Yes, we have responsibilities. Yes, we have bills. Yes, we have people depending on us.
But we were made for MORE than just surviving. More than just getting by. More than just counting down to retirement.
And deep down, you know this is true.
The Mindset That Changes Everything
Watch a child dream. They don't calculate odds. They don't list obstacles. They don't make backup plans.
They just SEE it. And because they see it so clearly, they start moving toward it with everything they have.
That's not naivety. That's vision.
My boys see themselves winning championships. They see themselves on that field, in that ring, living their dreams. And because they can see it, it's already real to them.
When you have that mindset - when you truly believe anything is possible - you stop seeing all the reasons why you can't. You start seeing paths you never noticed before.
Opportunities appear. Connections happen. Doors open.
You start to see the bigger picture.
What If You Believed Again?
Maybe you can't quit your job tomorrow. But can you start that side project tonight? Can you take that course? Can you have that conversation? Can you take one small step toward the thing that makes you come alive?
When you love what you do - whether that's your career or how you live your life - everything changes.
You show up differently. You impact people differently. You become MORE of who you were always meant to be.
Your responsibilities don't disappear when you chase your dreams. But what if the way to truly take care of the people you love isn't to shrink yourself and play it safe? What if it's to show them what's possible when someone refuses to give up?
Keep Dreaming
My boys believe they can conquer the world. And I'm going to protect that belief with everything I have.
But I'm also going to live it. I'm going to show them what it looks like when you refuse to settle. When you choose work you love. When you build a life aligned with your values. When you keep dreaming big, even when the world tells you to play small.
Not because it's easy. But because we were made for more than easy.
We were made for extraordinary.
And so were you.
What dream have you been putting off? What would change if you started believing in it again - today?
